Acapulco, Mexico – Acapulco has long been a destination known for its timeless glamour, rich culture and golden beaches. As the “new” Acapulco continues to unveil, led by an array of new hotels, resorts and restaurants, the city’s legendary charm continues to attract visitors from all corner of the globe. One of the iconic attractions of Acapulco has also reinvented itself; the cliff divers of La Quebrada recently introduced a new, multimedia component to the celebrated show that has been attracting crowds since the 1930’s.

Undergoing a technological makeover, the cliff diving show at La Quebrada now features a light & sound presentation to enhance the already spectacular show. The Governor of the State of Guerrero inaugurated the show in December of 2010. The new attraction consists of high-tech laser lights, in conjunction with a 12-minute video, giving viewers background information on the history of the diving tradition, as well as interviews with some of the divers themselves. The video is available in both English and Spanish. Witnessing the plunge of the divers at La Quebrada is an experience unlike any other, as the professionals dive from heights of 125 feet into the waters below. The multimedia show is available only at 10:30 p.m.; the current price is $40 pesos per adult and $15 pesos per child.

The iconic “clavadistas” of La Quebrada have drawn daily crowds for over 75 years, watching in awe as the divers perform their amazing and death-defying plunges into the waters of the Pacific Ocean.

A magical combination of incredible beauty and hypnotic charm, Acapulco is Mexico’s largest and most dazzling seaside resort attracting over nine million visitors annually.
